3DMark2001 SE allows you to test your computer’s ability to handle the displaying of 3D graphics while playing 4 different demos of games, in order to provide a solid benchmark. This is a great and fun way to be able to tell what your computer is capable of handling, and what you’ll need to by in order for your computer to handle more advanced games. This version does not include all the bells and whistles that the 03 and 05 versions contain, but it is still very useful and very accurate. 3DMark2001 SE also comes with support for all the latest hardware, and can even detect hard drives, and AGP settings, which are crucial to 3D performance, and in displaying accuracy in a benchmark calculation.
