An Overclockers Dream: Windows XP SP3 Due April 29th
April 23, 2008 2:10 pm Optimize Windows XP
Due to the popularity of these mini laptops that have sprung up everywhere, Microsoft has ben convinced to keep Windows XP alive for the next few years. While overclocking your computer doesn’t restrict you to any particular operating system, there hasn’t been a lot of need for overclockers to switch over to using Windows Vista besides DX 10. Unfortunately if you’re overclocking your computer to max out your gaming potential, you’re going to need to load up Windows Vista to do that. For the rest of you, Microsoft has answered your prayers for some tweaks and fine tuning expected to be released Tuesday, April 29th in the newest Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3).
The original intent for this service pack was just to fix up some bugs, but apparently testers have been reporting that there’s a 10% speed boost over Windows XP SP2 and operates at twice the speed of the latest windows Vista SP1 update.
If you’re looking for a complete list of the features and benefits of Windows XP SP3, make sure to check that all out directly on Microsoft’s Details Page. Looks like Windows XP SP3 is turning out to be a must have for all XP users and especially those looking into overclocking their PC.
